Work Hours & Days Calculator helps you answer three different questions: how many selected weekdays fall in a date range, how long a shift lasts after breaks, and what your saved work records add up to for a month. It is available as an Android and iPhone app.
Use the workday calculator when planning a schedule, the work-time calculator for a single shift, and the calendar when you want to keep the result. Counting planned workdays does not automatically create daily work records.
Count workdays in a date range
- Choose Work Days in the calculator.
- Set the start and end dates. Both dates are included in the count.
- Select the weekdays you work, then calculate.
For example, October 5–11, 2026, with Monday, Wednesday and Friday selected, gives 3 workdays. Selecting Monday through Friday for the same range gives 5 workdays.
The calculator counts matching weekdays. It does not automatically remove public holidays or know which days you actually worked. Use your own schedule when choosing the dates and weekdays.

Calculate a shift after deducting breaks
Choose Work Time, enter your start and end times, and enter the break in minutes. The result is the elapsed time minus that break.
| Start | End | Break | Work time |
|---|---|---|---|
| 09:00 | 18:00 | 60 minutes | 8 hours |
| 22:00 | 06:00 the next day | 30 minutes | 7 hours 30 minutes |
For the first example, the elapsed time is 9 hours. Deducting a 1-hour break leaves 8 hours. When the end time is earlier than the start time, the app treats it as the following day, which lets you calculate a shift across midnight.
Estimate pay from your hourly rate
Enter an hourly rate to calculate work hours × hourly rate. For example, 8 hours at an example rate of 20 gives an estimate of 160 in the currency you use. A 7-hour-30-minute shift is 7.5 hours, so the same example rate gives 150.
These examples use an arbitrary rate. This calculation applies the rate you enter; it does not separately calculate overtime or night-work premiums, taxes, or other payroll adjustments. Treat the result as a basic estimate when comparing it with your actual payslip.

Save a result and check the month
- After calculating a shift, choose Add to Calendar.
- Check the work date and the prefilled times, break and hourly rate. Add a note if needed.
- Save the record, then open the calendar to review or edit it.
The monthly summary adds up your saved records: workdays, work hours, estimated pay and average work hours per day. A calculation that you have not saved is not part of that summary.

Common questions
Why does an overnight shift work, but equal start and end times do not?
An earlier end time is interpreted as the next day. Equal start and end times are rejected rather than interpreted as a 24-hour shift. The break must also be shorter than the elapsed shift.
Why is the workday count different from the calendar total?
The workday calculator counts dates matching your selected weekdays. The calendar summary counts saved work records. They answer different questions, so check the date range and saved records when comparing them.
Can I correct a record later?
Yes. Open the date in the calendar, edit the record and save your changes. Check the monthly summary again after changing the recorded hours or rate.
