When entering a car shampoo instruction, check the ratio basis and which amount is known. A bucket's maximum capacity is not necessarily the water already inside. The following hypothetical concentrate:water 1:800 example is not a product recommendation.
Starting with 18L water
Water is 18000 mL. Concentrate = 18000 ÷ 800 = 22.50 mL; total is 18022.50 mL. Choose material/water mode and enter 18L in the water field.
Making 18L total
Divide the finished amount into 801 parts:
- Concentrate: 18000 ÷ 801 ≈ 22.47 mL
- Water: 18000 × 800 ÷ 801 ≈ 17977.53 mL
Choose total mode and enter 18L. These displayed quantities are rounded to two decimal places.
Four checks before entering the amount
- Use instructions for the actual product and application. A ratio pictured for another product is not a substitute.
- Identify concentrate:water versus concentrate:total. A concentrate:total 1:800 instruction requires 1:799 in the app's concentrate-to-water fields.
- Choose the mode that matches known water or intended total.
- Check mL, L or US gal/fl oz in the input and output.
Follow the product's application, surface, contact-time and rinsing instructions. Arithmetic alone cannot establish cleaning performance, coating protection or scratch prevention.
